Our system uses real slates that mimic the look of much larger traditional slates but are significantly lighter in weight. No need to use lower quality fake or imitation slate products. We only supply real quarried slate. We offer all our Vermont slate colors along with Unfading Black from Spain. All of our slates are S1 Grade.
Our lightweight slate roofing systems offer several advantages, including easier installation, reduced structural requirements, and improved safety during installation and maintenance. They are also less prone to breakage and can be more cost-effective than natural slate due to lower transportation and labor costs. Don’t settle for fake products, use real slate.
Our lightweight slate roofing system uses S1 grade roofing slates, along with HDPE interlayment that is UV and weather resistant. This offers a real slate roof as a weight less than 6 pounds per square foot. If you want a more aesthetic look and Class 4 hail rating, we can also offer a thicker 3/8-1/2” selection at just 9 pounds per square foot.
Our lightweight system is a great option for that older home that needs a reroof but you do not want to upgrade your structure to handle the weight of a traditional slate roof. Also, a great option for lower quality and shorter lifetime products like cedar or plastic imitation slates.
